Get started right with professional instructors from MAS. Learn the basics of safe belaying and good outdoor climbing techniques in a safe and supportive environment.  If you have never climbed before, or if it has just been awhile, this thorough introduction will get you started on the right foot and ready for more climbing adventures during the festival and afterwards. 

This clinic covers the art of placing gear. We'll use nuts, hexes, tri-cams and camming devices. These skills are useful for many outdoor rock climbing applications including top-ropes, lead climbing, multi-pitch and big wall anchor construction.  After we cover the basics, exspect to get "hands-on" practice and feedback from professional rock climbing instructors.

For most of us crack climbing is not as natural as face climbing and requires focused training to master the subtleties. Participants will have opportunities to climb different crack sizes, from fingertips to off-widths, and receive tips and coaching from professional instructors. Special attention will be placed on jamming, liebacks, and opposing forces.
